For the first day of Spring I added colour to this monochrome outfit by wearing a Spring hued scarf.
I also added a blue crossbody, which to my surprise matched the scarf perfectly. This scarf was my grandmothers. She had several colourful scarfs that she would wear to match her outfits. I’ve held on to most of them and am excited to see that they are back in style. This is a small square scarf that I rolled like a bandana and then wrapped it around my neck and tied it at the end. What do you think of this outfit? Do like wearing scarves? Have you ever held on to an item or items knowing that they will one day come back in style?
Sweater: Ann Taylor Loft (Old.) Silk Shirt: Tahari (old.) Scarf: Vintage, Similar Scarf Here, also Love this Dog Scarf. Skirt: BCBG (old,) Love this skirt Here. Shoes: BCBG. Bag: No label - Purchased at Marshalls.
I hope you're having a wonderful first day of Spring! Thank you for stopping by!
~Lili

What a beautiful scarf Lili, I love the story behind it. I think it matches your bag perfectly too. This is a really lovely look. Gemma x

That is a lucky match! It's so nice when two pieces work so well together, especially when they are two completely different pieces, ones that you have because you like them, rather than because you were trying to match them. I love scarves, actually I have a bit of a scarf problem. I have way too many, haha!

DeleteScarfs are huge this year and your grandmother was truly a fashionista, can you send me a few from her collection I give you my address? Blue seems to be your favorite color because if I count the number of times you wore blue on the blog I think they are a lot! You wore the scarf perfectly by folding it and the cross body bag completes the whole outfit because it matches it! You are such a vision s always!

I hope you had a great first day of spring as well. I do wear scarves in autumn/winter mostly, but I like these small ones, so maybe I will give them a go.

This is such a pretty pairing, Lili! I love the touches of blue with the nude, so refreshing and perfect for spring. I love how you've held on to and wear many of your grandmother's pieces, it makes it so much more than an article of clothing. She seems as though she was a very fashionable woman, I can see that she's greatly influenced your love for fashion :) Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you're having a great start to your Monday so far!

DeleteFirst of all, I love how you hold on to vintage pieces from your grandmother, I wish my family did the same thing alas, they are not very nostalgic by nature. :-) Secondly, I have never get into scarf, I mean I want to buy each and every one that I see because they are so beautiful and feminine but I never know how to wear them. I tried around the neck before but it feels really uncomfortable. is it something that you get used to with time or you just brave the uncomfortable feeling?
ReplyDeleteShireen | Reflection of Sanity
I think it's just something you get used to. I used to wear scarves back when I had to dress up for work. Usually I would wear the longer versions and they didn't bother me at all. When I wore them like this it sometimes felt uncomfortable at first, but then I just became used to it. And as far as being nostalgic, I tend to hold on to everything, which is not good. It is almost better to be like your family, because the item may remind you of that person, but it will never bring them back :)
DeleteSo chic! I love the pop of color!

ReplyDeletehttp://itsafashionista.blogspot.in/2016/03/how-to-make-rose-petals-face-mask.html
This is a small square scarf that I rolled and flattened as if I was tying a bandana. Then I simple wrapped it around my neck and tied it in the front. I'll try to do a post on how to fold it sometime after Easter. Thank you Rishika :)
