How to Wear a Skirt Over a Skirt

Wearing a blue sleeveless top, blue and pink necklace, blue flowy skirt with a pink full skirt on top and silver sandals.

Today I’m wearing a pink full skirt on top of a blue flowy skirt.

As I was shopping my closet in search of something "new" to wear for Easter, I decided to try something radical by placing a skirt on top of another skirt. I’ve seen the trend with the skirt over the pants before, but never really found a combination that looked decent on me. So I was very surprised that the skirt over the skirt looked (in my opinion) amazing! The base outfit is a simple two piece sleeveless set in serenity blue which is pictured towards the bottom of this post, and I simply added a full pink skirt on top of this set. What do you think of this look? Would you ever wear a skirt over a skirt? Have you tried the skirt over pants trend?

  8. I have done the skirt over pants thing (a matter of necessity when you are pregnant and cant quite close your pants comfortably), but your combo looks very elegant. Reminds me of a ballerina.

  15. You definitely taught me something new today, Lili! I have never ever thought of pairing a skirt over a skirt. I've seen a few blogger wearing a dress as a top but this is the first with two skirts! Superbly creative!

  19. This is such a pretty pairing and a great idea, too, Lili! First off, I love the color contrast between the two, definitely perfect for spring! I've been seeing a lot of people experiment with the dress over jeans trend, but I don't recall seeing a skirt over a skirt, this is such a unique approach to the trend, I love it! Thanks so much for sharing and I hope you're having a great week so far!
