Layering: Button Down + Cowl Neck Dress

Today I thought I'd try something different - layering a cowl neck dress over a long sleeve button down, and paired with grey suede boots and a simple black purse.  I really love the effect of the double collar.
Over top I added a simple grey wool coat since it was a bit chilly this morning.  These layers are perfect for the crazy weather we've been having lately.  Cold in the mornings and  up to 75F in the afternoons.

The coat is a tailored button down that I bought years ago at H&M.  I was surprised that it fit perfectly - no real tailoring necessary.  It's become one of my go-to layering pieces.
Dress: Vintage  Similar Here.  Top: Banana Republic.  Coat: H&M (Old) Similar Here..  Boots: Sam Edelman (Old) Love their OTK version Here.  Bag: Kwanpen.

    I like the double collar look, just like you threw on a scarf. The weather around here is pretty warm for winter (around 9 °C), but grey and gloomy.

      It does look like a scarf - I didn't even think of that, haha. It's been very warm here until today, it's 9C (48F) and I'm freezing. I guess my body is used to the warm weather living in the southern US. When I used to live in NJ 9C was really warm.

    The weather here hasn't been crazy like that, it's been either cold all day or warmer all day. It would be nice if it would be consistent day-by-day, but I'm glad that we don't have the different temperatures all day thing going on!
