After my last post the entire state that I live in here in the US flooded. We had no water at all and no electricity for a couple days. Sadly, many people lost their entire homes, and some lost many of their belongings including their memories. My heart goes out to all those who suffered loss. I was very fortunate in that only my garage and little storage room flooded. Everything else was fine. Once power and water was restored, the water was still undrinkable -this is the colour of the water once it was restored.
The State said we had to boil it before drinking and washing dishes. Though they did say we could use it to wash clothing, but since it stained my tub I figured it would probably stain clothing as well.
So during the first few days I mainly wore pajamas, but once the sun shined down and the stores were again open I wore the basics - Jeans and T-shirts. Though yesterday I wore a fun pair of shoes since the roads were again dry.
Finally today we were told that our water was again clean. Though many still have much more to deal with than just dirty water, and my heart goes out to these people. It is amazing what I’ve taken for granted in my life and this is just a reality check to be thankful everyday for everything; even if it’s something as basic as having clean water.

Events like these that make you really thankful for everything. We normally take clean drinking water for granted. Wishing you the best. :]

Thank you Lindsey.
DeleteI'm glad for you that you didn't have any major difficulties associated with the hurricane. As you said, so many people lost so much, it really makes you think!
ReplyDeleteI think you're right, by the way, I bet the water would have stained clothing. I'm sure it would have been fine with darks, but whites and light colours might have been ruined. I love those shoes, by the way!

I'm so sorry for what you've had to go through the past couple of days. I've seen the reports of flooding all over the news and it did look really bad and I too feel very bad for those who have lost everything. I lost my home in a fire my junior year of high school, so I know how hard this all can be. Nonetheless, you look stunning and I love this look. It's simple-chic, but those shoes and bag really help to elevate the look :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you have an amazing day and that you didn't have memorable things damaged in the flooding. Sending lots of love your way!

Thank you Jalisa. I was very lucky not to have had lost anything. Those around us have lost so much, similar to what you must have had in your fire. It's very sad, but it also brings people together and makes us all appreciate all the small things which are really important. Thank you so much for your comment.

This problem requires an immediate solution. I am sure that the poor water quality affects many other areas of our lives. You are a proof of this.
